The ASCP Resident Council is the voice of you- ASCP’s resident members. The Council provides advice and recommendations to the ASCP Board of Directors through the Commission on Membership on ways in which ASCP may best meet the professional and educational needs of resident members.
Sounds great! But what does that actually mean?
Since its inception, the Resident Council and ASCP have collaborated to bring residents unique opportunities and resources:
Networking Opportunities – Everyone knows that networking is key to securing your next big opportunity, and the Resident Council is committed to bringing residents together with ASCP leaders to make that happen. Twice per year, ASCP and the Resident Council host a reception at the ASCP Annual Meeting and at the USCAP Annual Meeting, where residents can enjoy making connections and meeting with members of ASCP senior leadership. Additionally, the Resident Council and Fellow Council co-host a networking session at the ASCP Annual Meeting designed to help residents network with new-in-practice and established pathologists.
ASCP Medical Student Award – A committee of Resident Council members review these award nominations for medical students who have achieved academic excellence, demonstrated leadership ability, and shown a strong interest in the pathology profession. Nomination forms are available now! Click here for more details.
